For The Record | Company Integrity | Revyz.io

We are in the business of the integrity. In fact, the entire data security industry exists only to protect the integrity of systems and data.   So its both ironic and dissapointing when we discovered that our competitors have been openly lying about us.

Did I Read That Right?

In the past couple of weeks, I was sent product comparisons by our partner friends,  prospective clients and existing customers too.  They wanted us to comment on our 'lack of features'. When I read this comparison I was floored.  Some of our core and basic backup features were marked in the document as missing in our product, but present in theirs.

The documents were nicely designed and formatted pieces of sales collateral by other software vendors in the Atlassian marketplace.  These sorts of documents take time and effort to write - it was not just an email written by an overzealous sales guy - this was fully branded material that was going to all of our prospective clients.

This is misleading and goes against the very thing that our industry is here to uphold.  Integrity.

I guess that it is a little flattering, really. We must be hitting a nerve if they're going to all this trouble to try to discredit us.  It would be laughable - had it not been brought to our attention by our prospective clients, partners and existing clients who had been sent product comparison charts that were false. They were planning on making strategic decisions based on this information.

It raises a serious question, if backup software vendors  were unscrupulous enough to negatively falsify actual features of a competitor's product - how truthful are their stated features of their own product?

Should We Just Move On?

I would probably just move on, but this has been going on for sometime now!

A few weeks ago, a particularly hilarious example, was a blog post that originally listed the "8 best Jira cloud backup providers", which included vendors who do not provide Jira backup :-). When I checked back on it today, it had been modified to the "7 best ..." removing the providers who don't offer Jira backup.

I wonder what made them change their mind?

The blog post had Revyz listed at the bottom next to the Microsoft backup vendors , I guess in some people's minds Office 365 is the same as Jira :-).

It's amazing to me that our competitors couldn't even bother to use their collective god's given gift of HI (Human Intelligence) instead of relying on AI (Artificial Intelligence) to do their research they would have kept up some of the credibility of the companies they represent.

Unfortunately, our competitors' misleading and incorrect collateral has achieved its desired objective of putting FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) out there in the minds of our clients, prospects, and partners. They were successful in executing their hatchet job and we've had to make sure that we were crystal clear in clarifying the facts.

But hey, at least we know we're doing something right. If our competitors are so worried about us, they must be seeing something we're doing well. So thank you, competitors, for the free publicity!

Setting the Record Straight

In response to the incorrect information out there, we would like to share all the details of our product offering and making it easy for all including our competitors to see what our product offering supports and does not support. Here is a link to a detailed document which lists out what the capabilities of our offering are - https://support.revyz.io/revyz-data-manager/revyz-data-manager-for-jira-capabilities

If there is something missing please reach out to me vish@revyz.io and I will ensure that we address your query or concern  in a timely manner.

Our Community is a Village

If you are a Revzy competitor and are reading this - we're moving on but you may want to check in with your sales and marketing teams and do a bit of fact checking of what you are saying.

We know that the Atlassian community is actually a pretty tight little village and its a village where end users take things such as integrity really seriously.
