Step-by-Step Guide to Restore Your Project

 

1. Ensure Revyz Data Manager is Installed:

To restore the deleted projects effortlessly we need the Revyz Data Manager for Jira already installed on my site before any disaster strikes. Make sure you have Revyz Data Manager installed on your site. If you haven’t done this yet, you can head over to the Atlassian Marketplace and get started with a free trial.


 

2. Initiating an On-Demand Backup

While Revyz Data Manager automatically backs up your configurations every 24 hours, you can also create an on-demand backup for immediate needs. Just click on the Backup section within the application and initiate the process.


 

3. Accessing Clone and Restore Features: 

To restore your deleted project, navigate to the Clone & Restore feature in Revyz Data Manager. Here, you can choose to restore projects along with their issues or perform a full site restore.


4. Select Your Backup Timestamp:

Choose the latest backup snapshot before the deletion occurs. This ensures that you're restoring the most accurate version of your project.

 

5. Choose Destination Site Details:

You can restore the project on the same site or even another site if needed. This flexibility saves time by allowing you to create a fresh project with existing configurations.

 

6. Select the Project to Restore:

Pick the specific project you want to recover and decide whether to restore issues as well. If you prefer a clean slate, change the project key and name while toggling off the restore issues option.

 

7. Review Dependencies:

Before finalizing the restoration, review any dependencies to understand what configurations will be affected.

You can also export the Metadata at any step to maintain the logs.





8. Utilize Diff View:

Click on Diff View for a visual comparison of what will be restored versus what currently exists. This step helps ensure everything is as expected.

 

9. Restore the Project:

After confirming all details are correct, enter job notes and complete CAPTCHA verification before hitting the clone button.

 

10. Verify Restoration Success:

Once the process is complete, check your project settings and issue types to confirm that everything has been restored correctly.
